Anzac Day 25th April 2025

ANZAC is the acronym formed from the initial letters of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. This was the formation in which Australian and New Zealand soldiers in Egypt were grouped before the landing at Gallipoli at 4:28am on 25 April 1915 during World War I.

The Gallipoli campaign was the first major military action fought by Australia and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

Anzac Day services perpetuate the memory of those men who paid the supreme sacrifice in the Gallipoli campaign and all the men and women of our armed forces who have paid the supreme sacrifice in all other theatres of war and peacekeeping operations.
